Shane Madden - PGA Qualified Golf Professional

Originally from Newmarket on Fergus in County Clare Shane trained under former tour professional Tom Murphy at Newcastle West, he then turned professional in 2003 at the age of 20 and graduated in 2007 with a degree in the P.G.A programme.

After his training he then moved Limerick golf club where he was involved shop management and the development of the teaching facilities. During his time at Limerick golf club he was heavily involved in all teaching operations and developed a huge clientele base where he coached players of different abilities ranging from beginner through to national standard where he coached at the European Open at Royal Dublin.

Shane's amateur highlight came at the South of Ireland where he reached the later stages of the tournament narrowly missing out. He also played for Munster`s Youth Provence in 2000- 2002 where he enjoyed great success.

He now hopes to continue his career by setting up his own methods here at Athlone Golf Academy.
